The lowdown on SIP Trunking

Allstream’s SIP Trunking Event: Simplifying IT Operations will see experts, including Telax’s own Vice President of Operations, Taras Kapanaiko, converge to discuss the business and IT cases for adopting SIP Trunking. The event has already occurred in Toronto and Vancouver, but stops in Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, and Mississauga are scheduled between May 31st and June 12th.
ThinkTel, who does SIP for Microsoft Lync as well as SIP Trunking, not only offers a series of free webinars designed to explain new technologies, but they also have ingeniously placed, short videos that explain the finer points of SIP technology.
Running data and voice over a single IP network has a number of benefits, which will is outlined in detail on both Allsteam and ThinkTel's websites, but the core advantages are simplicity and cost. Unifying data and voice eliminates many potential network problems, especially when dealing with multi-site operations, and the cost of SIP Trunking over legacy connections can be significantly lower.
